AMGA Group BreedPlan

How To Fill Out The Forms

Dam Inventory & Breeding Worksheet

The Group BreedPlan begins when the AMGA office sends the Dam Inventory & Breeding Worksheet to members in December of each year. The AMGA computer system lists all of the cows and heifers listed in your herd that were born prior to December 31, two years previous.
(Ex. 2004 Dam Inventory would list all heifers born before December 31, 2002. The system assumes that heifers are bred to calve at two years of age.)

When you receive your Inventory, you need to review the cows that are listed to make sure that all of your cows and bred heifers are listed. If you have an animal due to calve in the following year that is not on the inventory, you need to add here. Click here for instructions on adding females to your inventory.

If there are cows that are no longer in the herd, or cows from which you will not be registering calves or submitting data, they need to be removed from your inventory. You report any cows removed from herd or inventory in the "Disposal Code" box on the Inventory form. Click here for the list of disposal codes.

After you have added and removed cows from your inventory, you need to enter the mating information in the appropriate boxes on the far right of the form. Click here for instructions on how to properly enter the mating information.

Once you update your inventory send it back to the AMGA office along with the appropriate Group BreedPlan fee ($20.00 per cow). As soon as we receive your Inventory, we will enter the data in the computer and generate the "Application for Registration" form, which is the second step in the 4 step year long Group BreedPlan data gathering process.
